Equation of state and collision rate tests of parton cascade models ⋆
نویسندگان
چکیده
We develop two further numerical tests of parton cascade models: the ideal gas equation of state and the collision frequency tests. The equation of state test checks the initial momentum distribution generator and free expansion dynamics in periodic inhomogeneous geometries. The collision rate test is sensitive to spatial inhomogeneities and the collision algorithm. These tests are applied to the recently developed ZPC parton cascade model. The tests helped uncover unphysical correlations induced by one of the commonly used random number generators and showed the necessity of particle subdivisions for convergence to the exact analytic limit. ⋆This research was supported by the U.S. Department of Energy under contract No. DE-FG02-93ER40764. Modulation Response and Relative Intensity Noise Spectra in Quantum Cascade Lasers
Static properties, relatively intensity noise and intensity modulation response in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) studied theoretically in this paper. The present rate equations model consists of three equations for the electrons density in the conduction band and one equation for photons density in cavity length. Two equations were derived to calculate the noise and modulation response. Calcula...
متن کاملSelf-Screened Parton Cascades
The high density of scattered partons predicted in nuclear collisions at very high energy makes color screening effects significant. We explain how these screening mechanisms may suppress nonperturbative, soft QCD processes, permitting a consistent calculation of quark-gluon plasma formation within the framework of perturbative QCD. We present results of a model calculation of these effects inc...
متن کاملModeling Multiple–Vehicle Property Damage Collisions in Urban Signalized Intersections
Development of disaggregate models for estimating different property damage collision type frequencies in urban intersections has rarely been studied, particularly in Iran. It seems very little research work being implemented for studying the effect factors on collision type frequency at intersections. The main objective of this paper is to develop suitable statistical models to predict types o...
متن کاملParton Cascades, Small x, Multiple Interactions, and Saturation
In e+e−-annihilation the total hadronic cross section is given by the probability to produce an initial qq̄ pair, which is determined by QED. The effects of the strong interaction is here only a correction with relative magnitude αs/π. The emission of a gluon cascade is, however, essential for the properties of the final state, although it does not change the total cross section. Here angular or...
متن کاملReal-time Simulations of High-energy Nuclear Collisions
The space–time evolution of nuclei in high energy heavy ion collisions and the various proposed signatures of the hot and dense matter formed 1 depend sensitively on the initial conditions for the evolution. These are the distributions of partons in each of the nuclei prior to the collision. In the standard perturbative QCD approach, observables from the collision are computed by convolving the...
